You will be introducing them to a future that is both marvelous and frightening—filled with abundant opportunity and many challenges and populated by characters who seize their days on this planet, every day, making each day count.
In the mid-21st century, amidst a world entrenched in corporate power and greed, brilliant young physicist Damien Bell emerges to create quantum communications and the AI phenomenon of quantum entities—poised to make global scarcity a thing of the past. Here Damien’s journey begins––thrust into the reality of global business influence and national security––to prove that “we are all ONE.”
In this first book of his trilogy, Bruce M Firestone creates a thrilling new genre that captures the essence of science fiction, adventure, action, romance and the entrepreneurial spirit.
“Congratulations Prof Bruce, you’ve got a winner here. After reading Part I, Discovery, I was totally hooked. It’s better than ‘The Goal’ and more entertaining even than ‘Dune’!” David Perry, Partner, Perry-Martel International, co-author, Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 3.0.
I wanted to write a great mid-21st Century story, a trilogy as it turned out, focused on five themes—entrepreneurship/science, science speculation, science fiction and engineering/politics and the law/action and adventure/and love story with plenty of learning outcomes too. Then, unexpectedly, a sixth appeared—it became a mystical and spiritual tale as well.
I dedicate this trilogy to all my students but especially Gen Y. These kids aged 19 to 32 are building not only great enterprises, some of them world-spanning, global altering ones like the one I describe in my trilogy, but also contributing to building better communities through vision, talent, focus and hard work as well as finding innovative ways of giving back to society. It’s peculiar that entrepreneurs today, who are in it only for the money, have none while those that are building insanely great products and services plus contributing to their communities, have it all.
Gen Y could be the real successors to perhaps the greatest Generation ever—those who lived and worked from 1914 to 1969, who took us from buggies to planes and to the Moon, who faced down two World Wars, a Great Depression, the Nazi menace and the long Cold War. Gen Y, it’s your turn now.
